Welcome to the skaters participating in Canada East this weekend in Fredericton.  There are skaters ages 11-15 from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, and Nunavut.  These skaters will be competing in 4 distances plus team relays.

Good luck to NB skaters competing at the Canadian Juniors beginning tomorrow, Thursday, March 19.

Skaters include: Brendan Corey, Rikki Doak, Danielle Dumouchel, Heidi Evans, Sarah Gilbert, Aylssa Seymour, Chandler Scott

The Fredericton Amateur Speed Skating Club is in the final preparation to host the 2015 Canada East Short Track Championship.

From March 20-22 115 of the finest young skaters (11-15) from Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Nunavut will compete at the Grant Harvey Centre across 4 distances to see who will be crowned the Canada East Champion across 4 age classes.

Congratulations to the largest New Brunswick contingent yet to attend a Canada East Championship, 24 skaters representing every Club in NB will participate in the weekend affair.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Championship, admission is free the entire weekend.

 

Both of the Mens & Ladies Short Track teams are coming home with medals from the Canada Winter Games.

The ladies team wins a silver medal and breaks the provincial record in the heat.  They then break that newly set record in the final.

The Mens team wins a bronze medal and breaks the provincial record in the final.
