The Halifax Regional Speed Skating Club will be hosting the Citadel Cup this year on November 10 and November 11. The competition will be held at St. Margaret’s Center Arena (12 Westwood Blvd, Upper Tantallon, NS).

Speed Skate PEI invites you to the 2018 Atlantic Cup Speed Skating Championships at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on October 27 and 28!

We will be following the ability meet format, with skating on the 85, 100 and 111 metre tracks. The 2018 Atlantic Cup will be an exciting event for all skaters and their families, with competitors from far and wide!  We want you to be part of it.

The host hotel is the Holiday Inn Express, who are offering a rate of $109.00 per night with hot breakfast, free wifi and free parking included. See the flyer for details.  Be sure to mention you are with the Atlantic Cup.

To register, complete our online registration form and make your payment by credit card.  You can also find the form under the Competitions tab on our website, www.speedskatepei.ca.

As a registration incentive, each visiting club having 10 or more registered skaters will have a draw during the competition for a Confederation Bridge or Northumberland Ferries pass for one of their skaters.  One winner from each eligible club!

Last day for withdrawal (with refund): Monday, October 22, 8:00 pm

Speed Skate New Brunswick will be holding the last summer training camp in Moncton on September 23rd for all age eligible speed skating athletes of the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

Where: Crossman Community Centre (99 Wynwood Dr, Moncton)

When: 12-5pm Sunday September 23rd

This will be a mandatory camp. We will go through a series of aerobic, agility, speed, strength, and flexibility tests to determine your progress through the summer and be able to monitor your progression as we approach the CWG.

We will start the day with our testing, please come having eaten lunch already. We will hopefully have a CWG skinsuit sizing kit with us so please bring your Dyneema suit with you to help determine the correct size for you.

The cost to attend this camp is $20/athlete. Please sign up below by September 16th

There will be a Canada Winter Games training camp in Fredericton September 9th

Where: Odell Park (Waggoners LN, Fredericton)

When: September 9th 10am-5pm

The camp in Fredericton will focus on aerobic power fitness and imitation technique. Be ready for a tough day of training by drinking plenty of water the day before and having a well-balanced meal that is carb heavy. It is also a good idea to bring plenty of water and a bottle of sports drink to help keep electrolytes and salt in your body through the camp.

There is no ice available so this will be an off ice camp. Please dress appropriately for the outside weather.  Good snacks to bring through the day would be: fresh fruit, hummus and crackers, veggie sticks, fruit juice, etc.

The cost for the camp is $20, please sign up below by September 2nd.

***Online payment is preferred.  No cash will be accepted at the event.  If you must use a cheque please make it out to NBASSA Inc for the correct amount.  If no payment is received your attendance at the camp will not be counted.***

The New Brunswick Canada Winter Games Short Track Selection Competition will be held November 24-25th as part of the Harold Joyce competition in Fredericton. There will be one male and one female division for CWG eligible skaters along with the regular Harold Joyce meet.

The NB CWG Long Track Selection Competition will be held at the Emera Oval, Halifax on January 12-13th with the backup weekend of January 19-20th. Good luck to all racers!
