The Hampton Speed Skating Club and Speed Skate New Brunswick has made the decision to cancel the Hampton One Day Meet this upcoming Saturday March 14th.

This decision comes as a result of the growing concern of the spread of CONVID-19. This is in accordance to the Chief Medical Officer of Health in New Brunswick who recommended the cancellation or postponement of any events with more than 150 people.

All registrants will receive a full refund. Please be patient as we work through the large number of refunds needed.

Thank you for your understand,

Hampton Speed Skating Club & Speed Skate New Brunswick

There will be a relay camp held at the Charles Gorman Arena (80 University Ave N, Saint John) Sunday March 15th from 8:15am-2:15pm. This will consist of a 1 hour video/classroom session, then a two-hour ice session, followed by video analysis of the on-ice relays, and then a dryland session/relay drills.

You must be age eligible for the Canadian Youth Short Track Championships – East (Female:11-14, Male:12-15), to attend the camp.

The purpose of this camp is to work on relays and to get more comfortable as a team, therefore this is no minimum time requirement. This camp is targeted at improving relay knowledge across NB as well as preparing our athletes attending the CYSTC- East by getting comfortable performing relays with their teammates.

· Video analysis of relays

· On-ice relay practice

· Off ice video analysis of relay practice

· Off-ice dryland and relay drills

Please have sharp blades and all necessary equipment. Bring a lunch and few snacks with you to have between the ice session and the dryland portion. (granola bars, fruit, crackers, juice, etc. Don’t bring anything too heavy!). It is encouraged to bring a light jacket or sweater on ice with you to keep warm. We will be outside for warm-up jogs so dress according to the weather.

The cost to attend is $25. Registration for the camp Closes Tuesday March 10th. Follow the Link HERE to register.
