You are invited to the Third Annual Oval Meltdown, which will take place on the weekend of February 17-18 at the oval in Halifax. We have moved the event a week earlier this year, in the hope that the oval will not actually melt down!
The Oval Meltdown is a developmental competition, suitable for skaters of all ages and levels of experience.
Since the Winter Olympics will be going on at the same time, in additional to mass start ability races, we have included Olympic events on the program: all ages will have a chance to do Olympic Style racing; there will be team pursuits for older skaters and relays for younger skaters; and all ages will do a (modified) ISU Mass Start distance event. The weekend wraps up with a pizza party and games.
Details can be found on the event webpage at https://speedykids.ca/third-annual-oval-meltdown/.
Registration is online by individual skater via the link accessible from the webpage: the deadline to register is Friday February 9th at 6pm. Payment is due by Tuesday February 13th at midnight: SSNS clubs will be invoiced for their skaters once registration closes; for out-of-province skaters, payment is by individual/family.

Please circulate this invitation to your members. Any questions, please let me know.

We hope to see you in February!
